Incorporation in daily life

You can incorporate learnings by growing your food, walking barefoot on natural ground, and prioritizing eating fresh to support your energy and overall wellbeing.

Gingerhill Farm Retreat is a regenerative eco-retreat committed to sustainability, clean food, and holistic wellbeing. Guests immerse themselves in hands-on farming, harvesting fresh produce, and crafting nutrient-rich meals, complemented by yoga, meditation, and outdoor fitness. The retreat cultivates a deep connection to the land, natural cycles, and sustainable living—nurturing both body and planet.

Founded by renowned Japanese artist and activist Mayumi Oda, Gingerhill was created as a sanctuary for mindful living and environmental stewardship. Nestled in South Kona’s Greenbelt, this five-acre haven has been transformed from overgrown land into flourishing gardens, orchards, and organic terraces. Now led by her son, Zachary, and his wife, Iris, the farm continues its mission of sustainability and self-sufficiency.

More than a retreat, Gingerhill is a living classroom—offering an immersive experience in regenerative practices, natural rhythms, and holistic self-care, inspiring visitors to integrate these principles into daily life.

Modern scientific researches:

Title: Soil Microbiomes and Their Potential Impact on Human Health

  • Main Author: Christopher A. Lowry
  • Date of Publishing: February 2018
  • Abstract: This study explores the role of soil microbiomes in influencing human health and wellbeing. The research highlights that beneficial microorganisms present in soil, such as Mycobacterium vaccae, can positively impact mental health by reducing stress and anxiety. The study also discusses how exposure to living soil can regulate immune responses, enhance mood, and promote overall resilience against psychological stressors. These findings support the idea that regular interaction with soil—through gardening or nature-based activities—can contribute to long-term wellbeing.
