About the specialist

Devashish Dey, an exponent of the Khayal style of classical Indian music, combines the influences of three major Gharanas—Banaras, Agra, and Gwalior—having trained under stalwarts Pashupati Nath Mishra and Mukund V. Kalvint. Known for his meditative and emotionally resonant performances, Devashish brings a unique blend of traditional styles with a focus on spirituality and deep emotional expression. A graduate of Benaras Hindu University and awarded "Sangeet Praveen" by Prayag Sangeet Samiti, he holds an "A" grade from All India Radio and Doordarshan. With a diverse repertoire spanning Khayal, Thumri, Tappa, and Bhajan, his compositions are compiled in his book "Swatah-Sfurt Swarachit." Devashish's numerous accolades include a Gold Medal from Prayag Sangeet Samiti and the "SUR MANI" award, solidifying his place as a leading figure in classical Indian music.
