Ancient & scientific relevance

Ancient texts that refer to this

The concept of Yoga Nidra is mentioned in ancient sacred Indian texts like Mahabharata (5000+ years old), Devi Mahatymayam (1800+ years old) and Vishnu Purana (one of the 18 Maha-puranas ie great stories). To bring into practical experience the term Prajna in Mandukya (the shortest and one of the principal Upanishads) and the 5th limb of Yoga, Pratyahara (mentioned in Patanjali Yoga Sutras) Yoga Nidra was developed as a practice by the living traditions.
